Rick Kier has been involved with snow removal since he was 11 years old. He owned his first snowplow truck before he was old enough to have a driver’s license. He has been deeply involved in the snow plowing industry for more than 40 years. In 1996 Rick helped start the Snow and Ice Management Association (SIMA) and he has stayed on the cutting edge of the industry ever since. He is a certified snow professional (CSP) and has been working as an expert witness since 2004. He performed his expert witness work in addition to owning and running Pro Scapes Inc. in Syracuse, NY where winters with over 130” of annual snowfall are common. Rick has been an expert witness in a variety of cases mostly involving alleged slip and fall claims. He has worked for plaintiffs and defendants in many states across the northeast.
